이 연구는 2007 개정 교육과정에서 검인정 체제로 변화된 초등 실과 교과서의 출판사별 발명 영역의 내용을 분석하고, 이 교과서를 사용하여 지도한 경험이 있는 교사에게 발명 영역 내용의 적절성과 적용한 교수･학습 방법 및 목표 달성 정도 등에 대하여 설문하고 이에 대한 응답 결과를 분석하여, 보다 효율적인 발명 교육이 이루어질 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 것으로, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 현재의 초등 실과 교과서와 교사용 지도서에서 발명품과 발명가의 조사 활동, 발명 기법, 발명아이디어 창출 기법 등에 대한 내용은 포함되어 있었지만 간단한 발명품을 제작하는 활동 내용은 거의 기술되어 있지 않았다. 교사들은 발명 교육에 대하여 어느 정도 관심을 갖고 있었지만 발명기법 등 발명에 대한 이해가 미흡하였고, 발명 영역의 내용은 2007 개정 교육과정의 발명 교육을 효율적으로 실시할 수 있게 선정되고 조직되었다고 생각하고 있었지만, 학생들의 발명 의욕을 고취시키기에는 충분하지 않다고 판단하고 있었다. 이 영역에 적용한 교수･학습 방법은 잘 알려진 발명품, 발명가, 발명 기법 등의 이해를 위한 이론적 수업 이었으며, 간단한 생활용품을 발명하거나 개선점을 찾아 스케치하고 실제로 제작하는 활동 수업은 거의 적용하지 않고 있었다. 또한 발명 영역의 교수･학습 목표 달성도 충분하지 않았으며, 학생들은 발명에 관심을 갖고 있지만 적극적으로 학습하지 않는다고 하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면 다음과 같은 내용이 실현되어야 한다. 교사들이 발명교육에 관련된 폭 넓은 지식을 갖게 하고 이해를 증진시킬 수 있는 발명 관련 연수 등의 교육 프로그램을 적극 개발･시행하고, 교과서에는 학생들이 간단한 용품을 창의적으로 발명하고 제작하는 내용을 포함시켜야 하고, 교사용 지도서에는 발명 관련 단원의 교수･학습 방법 등에 관한 내용이 보다 상세히 기술되어야 하며, 또한 발명 단원을 위한 실습실 마련 등의 실천적 교수･학습 환경을 구성해야 한다는 것이다.
In this study, the contents of invention section were analyzed in elementary school Practical Arts textbooks which were changed to inspection and approval system at the 2007 revision curriculum, adequacy of the contents of the invention section, applied teaching and learning methods and goals were surveyed teachers who having education experience by using these textbooks. On the basis of analysed results of the teacher s response, the plans for effective invention education were proposed. The research results are as follows: In the current elementary school textbooks and teacher s instruction guidebooks, the contents of invention technique, invention idea generation technique and investigation activity of invention products and inventors were included but the contents of practical activities for making a simple invention production were not described nearly. Teachers had some interest in the invention education but invention techniques and understandings for invention were not sufficient. Also teachers have judged that the contents of the invention section for 2007 revision curriculum were selected and organized appropriately for efficient invention education, however, it was not enough to inspire the motivation of invention to the students. Applied teaching and learning methods in invention section were theoretical lessons for understanding of well-known invention products, invention technique etc, the sketch and actual making activity for invention and improvements of a simple household was not performed. They thought that teaching and learning goals of the invention section were not enough and students have interest in invention but does not learn actively. According to the research results, the following contents should be Realized. For extensive knowledge and promote understanding of invention education of teachers, such as the invention training program should be developed and implemented. The contents about creative inventing and making activity should be included in the textbooks and more detailed described contents about teaching and learning methods should be included in the teacher s instruction guidebooks.
