초등학교 교사와 학생의 인식에 터한 안전교육 실태 및 요구조사 :

Safety Education Status and Needs based on the Survey of the Recognition of Teachers and Students of Elementary Schools :

이 연구는 초등학교의 효과적인 학교안전교육에 기여하기 위하여 일선 교육현장에서의 안전교육실태와 요구를 조사·분석하는데 목적을 두고, 대전시내 초등학교 6학년에 재학중인 학생 528명과 교사 312명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 초등학생은 사고경험 실태조사에서 가정 내 안전사고를 가장 많이 경험하였다. 이는 초등 학생의 경우 가정에서 생활하는 시간이 많고 행동이 아직 미숙하기 때문으로 가정사고의 영역별사고 내용을 파악하여 그에 따른 안전교육이 더욱 강화되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 학교현장에서 안전교육을 경험한 적이 있음에도 불구하고 학교 및 가정 등에서 안전사고가 꾸준히 발생하고 있다는 것은 효율적이고 체계적인 안전교육이 이루어지고 있지 않음을 의미하는 것으로 학교현장에서 안전교육의 체계성과 비중을 높이기 위한 방법으로 교육과정 내에 년, 월, 주 단위로 계획하여 실시할 수 있도록 하고, 또한 안전교육 관련기관이나 단체에서 교육프로그램 및 교재의 개발 보급의 노력이 필요하다고 판단된다. 셋째, 안전교육의 필요성 및 요구 조사 결과를 바탕으로 학교 안전교육은 학생, 학부모, 지역사회의 안전교육에 대한 요구도를 함께 파악하여 학교폭력, 집단 따돌림 등의 사회적 이슈와 실생활과 밀접한 내용을 중심으로 편성할 필요성이 있으며, 다양한 체험활동이나 방문견학, 외부강사 활용, 학습자의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 시청각 매체 활용 교수법 등으로 실질적이고 체계적인 안전교육 지도가 초등학교시기부터 체계적으로 이루어져야 할 것이다.

This study investigated the teacher s and student s perceptions about the status and needs of safety education. 312 Elementary school teachers and 528 students in 6th grade in Daejeon city participated in this study. The main purpose of this study is to suggest the future direction and improvement strategies of safety education in elementary school through the objective evaluation on actual condition of safety education and the needs of teachers and students. First, students experienced home safety accident the most and the most frequent safety accident was slipping down accident at home. Since elementary school students have plenty of time to stay at home and their behaviors are still inexperienced, safety education should be more reinforced to prevent the home safety accidents. Second, The analysis results of this survey showed distinct difference in the recognition between teachers and students, and also exhibited the perception difference on safety education depending on the area in Daejeon. Thus, systematic education programs, teaching materials and audio-visual aids for safety education should be developed. Third, Based on the analysis results of the survey on the necessity and demand for safety education, school safety education should be organized with focusing on social issues and practical life such as school violence and training of public order or ethics. In addition, the situation or experience-centered safety education using various education programs and teaching materials should be systematically performed from the period of elementary school.
