로봇키트 활용 교육이 중학생의 창의적 인성 및 과학적 태도에 미치는 효과

An effect that an education utilizing a robot kit has on middle school students’ creative personality and scientific attitude

디지털 기기의 이해와 활용 능력이 현대사회를 살아가는 데 필요한 핵심역량으로 대두됨에 따라, 이를 효과적으로 함양시키기 위한 로봇활용 교육이 관심의 대상이 되고 있으며, 저렴한 비용으로 쉽게 제작할 수 있도록 설계된 반제품형 로봇키트 활용 교육은 그 가능성을 인정받고 있다. 본 연구에 서는 로봇키트 활용 교육의 효과를 실증적으로 검증하고자, 선행연구를 통해 창의적 인성 및 과학적 태도를 학습성과 변인으로 상정하고, 로봇키트 활용 교육 전후에 이들 변인에 향상의 증거가 보이는지 확인하였다. 이를 위해 중학생 30명을 대상으로 로봇키트 활용 교육을 4주에 걸쳐 8차시 실시하 여, 대응표본 t검정으로 사전-사후 변화를 분석하고, 개방형 설문 및 면담 결과를 질적으로 분석하 였다. 연구결과, 창의적 인성과 과학적 태도 변인 모두 로봇키트 활용 교육 후에 통계적으로 유의미한 향상을 보였으며, 학습자들의 진술 또한 이를 뒷받침하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 중학생들의 창의적 인성과 과학적 태도 향상을 위한 로봇키트 활용의 교육적 가치와 가능성을 실증적으로 확인하였으며, 로봇키트 활용 교육을 활성화하기 위한 교육전략의 고안 및 교육환경 구축을 제안하 였다.

As the ability to utilize and understand a digital device comes to the fore as core competency necessary for living in modern society, an education utilizing a robot for effectively cultivating this becomes the center of interest. And in case of an education utilizing a half-finished robot kit designed so as to be easily manufactured at low cost, its potential is recognized. In order to empirically check the effect of education utilizing a robot kit, this study assumed creative personality and scientific attitude to be a learning outcome variable, and checked whether an evidence of improvement in these variables was shown before and after an education utilizing a robot kit. To this end, 8 sessions of education utilizing a robot kit were given to 30 junior high school students over 4 weeks. And changes with pretest and posttest data were analyzed. The results of open-ended question and interview were analyzed. According to the results of study, both creative personality variable and scientific attitude variable showed statistically significant improvement after an education utilizing a robot kit, and it was shown that learners’ statement also supported this. Through this, the potential of education utilizing a robot kit for improvement in middle school students’ creative personality and scientific attitude was empirically checked. And building an education environment and designing an education strategy for the activation of education utilizing a robot kit was suggested.
