초등 예비교사들의 체면민감성과 신체만족도가 외모관리행동에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Social Faces and Body Satisfaction on the Appearance Management Behaviors of Pre-service Elementary School Teachers

본 연구는 초등 예비교사들의 외모관리행동을 체면민감성과 신체만족도와 관련 지어 규명해 봄으 로써 초등 예비교사들을 위한 의생활교육의 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적을 두고 진행되었다. 이를 위해 서울, 부산, 대구, 전주 지역의 교육대학교에 재학 중인 276명의 예비 여교사들을 대상으로 외모관리행동과 체면민감성, 신체만족도를 관련지어 실증적으로 분석하기 위한 설문조사를 실시하 였으며, 자료분석은 기술통계, 신뢰도분석, 요인분석, 분산분석, 다중회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 체면민감성의 하위요인은 ‘타인 시선의식’과 ‘예절/교양 중시’의 2개로 구성되었으며, 외모관 리행동은 패션관리, 헤어/피부관리, 성형관리, 체중관리의 4개의 요인으로 구성되었다. 둘째, 체면민감성의 하위요인 중 예절/교양을 중시할수록 패션관리행동에 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났으며, 신체만족도가 높을수록 패션관리, 헤어/피부관리 행동에 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 헤어/피부관리는 지역에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히 부산지역 예비교사들이 다른 지역에 비하여 헤어/피부관리에 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 학년에 따른 외모관리행동의 차이는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않았으나 대체로 2, 3 학년이 타학년에 비하여 다양한 외모관리행동에 관심이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 향후 남자 예비교사들을 대상으로 한 후속연구와 함께 이 연구들을 바탕으로 예비교사들을 위한 바람직한 의복행동을 포함하는 의생활교육 프로그램의 개발과 적용이 이루어져야 할 것이다

This study analyzed the relationship among the social face, body satisfaction and appearance management behaviors. Data were obtained from the 276 female pre-service elementary school teachers. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were employed for the data analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, the results showed that the social face consisted of ‘consideration of other s view’, and consideration of manners/refinement . The appearance management behavior consists of the four factors: fashion management, hair/skin management, appearance management through a plastic surgery and weight management. Second, there was a tendency for those who considered manners and refinement had a higher level of fashion management behavior. In addition, the body satisfaction had the significant positive effect on fashion management and hair/skin management. Third, there was regional differences in hair/skin management. Pre-service elementary school teachers in Busan tended to manage their hair/skin more than any others. Even if the results were not significant statically, there was a tendency that sophomores and juniors managed their appearance more than freshmen and seniors.
