본 연구의 목적은 디자인 중심 실과수업에서 학생들의 창의성에 영향이 미치는 지를 알아보는 것이며, 이를 위해 디자인교육과 창의성에 대해 이론적 고찰, 실과교과과정 내 디자인 교육내용을 분석하였고, 실과교육과정에서 디자인 관련 내용을 추출하여, 디자인 중심의 수업모형과 교수ㆍ학습 지도안, 수업매체 자료를 개발하였고, 디자인 중심의 실과수업이 학생의 창의성에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등에서의 디자인 교육은 스스로 행하면서 배우고 문제를 해결해 나가는 과정에서 상상력과 지적 능력을 키우며 미적 감성을 함께 발전시키며, 21세기의 사회에서 필요로 하는 창의성을 발달시킬수 있게 된다. 둘째, 향후 실과에서의 디자인 교육은 현재 ‘실용적ㆍ기능적 수행 영역’이나 ‘미적ㆍ상징적 표현 영역’에 비해 상대적으로 그 비중이 적은 것으로 분석된 ‘과학적ㆍ공학적 응용 영역’과 의사교환을 통한 상승효과를 기대할 수 있는 협동영역의 비중을 늘려 균형 있는 질적 향상을 꾀해야 할 것이며, 또한 ‘알다’와 ‘탐구’의 행동 유형이 모든 주제와 관련되어 있어 초등학생의 디자인에 대한 개념적 사고와 인지 능력을 발달에 도움을 줄 수 있고, 실과 디자인 교육 영역이 모든 디자인 행동 유형과 관련이 있도록 세심한 교재 개발의 배려가 있어야 하겠다. 셋째, 실험처치 후의 실험반과 비교반을 비교한 결과, 실험반이 비교반보다 창의성이 유의한 차이로 증진된 것으로 나타났다.
The purpose of this study was to find out that the design-based Practical Arts teaching affect the creativity of students. This study investigated about the theory of design education and the theory of creativity, analyzed about the contents of design education in Practical Arts Textbook, developed teaching materials, teaching-learning model, and teaching-learning plan, tested the effect of student s creativity through design-based Practical Arts teaching. Results of this study were as follows: 1. In the design education of elementary, students will develop the imagination, the intellectual ability, and aesthetic sensibility through learning by doing and solving problem, improve the creativity being in need of the 21st society. 2. Scientific technological application area have smaller proportion ㆍ in Practical Arts. Therefore, contents about scientificㆍtechnological application area are necessary to put into Practical Arts Textbook more and more. Design education area in Practical Arts is necessary to develop the textbook which related to every action type of design. 3. Experimental class who took part in the design-based Practical Arts teaching significantly improved in creativity. Meanwhile, controlled class who participated in general teaching showed no meaningful improvement in creativity.
