초등학교 고학년 시기는 신체발달과 더불어 정서적, 사회적 발달 및 자아개념이 형성되는 시기이며, 나름대로의 패션에 대한 욕구가 있으며 자신이 선호하는 의복을 입었을 때 정서적으로 안정되고 높은 자존감을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 초등학생의 통학복 유형을 자유복과 교복으로 나누어 각 집단에서의 의생활 특성을 조사 비교하여 집단의 특성에 따라 학교나 가정생활에서 의복에 대한 올바른 인식과 태도를 갖도록 지도하여 건강한 사회인으로 성장하는데 참고자료가 되고자 하였다. 문헌적 연구를 통하여 의생활 관련 변인으로 통학복 만족도, 선호하는 통학복 등의 특징과 의복에 대한 태도를 흥미성, 동조성, 경제성, 관리성, 자립성으로 선정하여 설문지를 구성하고 부산, 경남지역 초등학생 6학년 457명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS(ver.12) 통계패키지를 이용하였다. 그 결과 자유복 집단은 현재 자신의 통학복에 만족하며 통학복 구입 시 부모와 같이 가서 디자인, 품질 등을 고려하여 자신이 선택하는 경향이 많았다. 교복 집단은 80%정도가 4학년에 교복을 새로이 교체하며 약 10%가 물려 입는 것으로 나타났다. 교복을 수선한 적이 있는 경우는 절반 정도로 바지/치마길이, 소매길이 등을 주로 수선하였다. 두 집단의 의생활에 대한 태도를 분석한 결과, 교복 집단에서 의복의 흥미성(p<.05), 경제성(p<.01)에서 통계적 차이를 보이며 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 동일 집단에서의 성별에 따른 차이분석 결과, 자유복 집단에서는 여학생이 흥미성(p<.001), 경제성(p<.01), 관리성(p<.01)에서 통계적 차이를 보이며 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 교복 집단에서도 여학생이 흥미성(p<.001)에서 통계적 차이를 보이며 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 동성 간의 차이분석 결과, 남학생 간의 차이분석에서는 교복 집단이 경제성 (p<.001)에서 통계적 차이를 보이며 높은 점수를 나타내었고, 여학생 간의 차이분석에서는 자유복 집단이 자립성(p<.05)에서 통계적 차이를 보이며 높은 점수를 나타내었다.
The purpose of this study is to survey school clothing behavior and attitudes of elementary school students and to identify clothing differences of elementary school student s school attitudes toward campus wear. The questionnaire was conducted to 500 students(6th graders) in the elementary school in Pusan and Kyungnam Province; 457 were used for the data analysis. Data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, and chi-square. The results were as follows; Non-uniform group prefer casual wear to campus wears and satisfy with their own clothes. And boys have such tendency strongly. They consider design and color in buying clothes. Uniform group have re-purchased a school uniform in 4th grade. They have mended their slacks/skirt length and sleeve length in uniform. The uniform company have to investigate children clothing attitudes, and find out what to consider in each physical steps. There were partly significant difference between clothing attitudes(interesting p<0.5, economics p<.01) among school uniform group and non-uniform group. There were partly significant difference between clothing attitudes(interesting p<.001, economics p<.01, manage p<.01) among boys and girls in non-uniform group. There were partly significant difference between clothing attitudes(interesting p<.001) among boys and girls in uniform group.
