본 연구는 초등학교 내에 심어져 있는 나무를 통한 체험활동 프로그램이 아동들의 인성과 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 초등학교 3학년을 대상으로 실시한 결과 다음과 같다. 나무사랑 체험활동 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 인성의 하위요인인 인내(p<.001), 정직(p<.001), 생명존중(p<.001), 자비(p<0.001), 협동(p<0.001) 및 미(p<0.001) 등 모두에서 유의미하게 나타나 초등학교 저학년 아동들의 인성발달에 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 알 수 있었다. 그리고 실험집단의 인성 변화도 사후검사시 사전검사에 비하여 인내(p<.001), 정직(p<.001), 생명존중(p<.001), 자비(p<0.001), 협동(p<0.001) 및 미(p<0.001) 등 모두에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 나무사랑 체험활동 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단은 통제집단에 비하여 사회성의 하위요인인 책임감(p<.001), 자주성(p<.001), 준법성(p<.001), 지도성(p<.001), 근면성(p<.001) 및 사회성(p<.001) 등 모두에서 유의미하게 나타나 초등학교 저학년 아동들의 사회성 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것을 알수 있었다. 그리고 실험집단의 사회성 변화도 사후검사시 사전검사에 비하여 책임감(p<.001), 자주성(p<.001), 준법성(p<.001), 지도성(p<.001), 근면성(p<.001) 및 사회성(p<.001) 등 모두에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과 나무사랑 체험활동 프로그램이 초등학교 저학년 아동들의 인성과 사회성 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 추후 직접 자연과 더불어 배우고 익히는 다양한 체험활동 프로그램의 개발이 요구되었다.
This research was done to find out the effects that Love-the-Trees experience activities program has on elementary school student personality and social development by having grade three students go through the program with trees that were planted within their schools, and the results are as shown below. Elementary school student who had experienced the Love-the-Trees activities programs showed significantly high scores in their patience (p<.001), honesty (p<.001), respectful of life(p<.001), mercy (p<.001), cooperation (p<.001), and beauty (p<.001), relative to the control group which shows that such program gives positive reflection on the elementary school student character development. As well, the experimental group s change in personality after the experience activities program were significantly high in comparison to before the program with the following results; their patience (p<.001), honesty (p<.001), respectful of life (p<.001), mercy (p<.001), cooperation (p<.001), and beauty (p<.001). The elementary school students in lower grades who joined Love-the-Trees experience activities program showed high results in responsibility (p<.001), independence (p<.001), obey of law (p<.001), leadership (p<.001), diligence (p<.001), and sociality (p<.001), in comparison to the control group which proves that going through this program results in positive results. As well, when the change in their social skills is looked at, the experimental group s responsibility (p<.001), independence (p<.001), obey of law (p<.001), leadership (p<.001), diligence (p<.001), and sociality (p<.001) were all much higher than before the joining in the experience activities program. Thus, according to the results shown through this study, Love-the-Tree experience activities program gave positive influences to the elementary school students, especially the ones in their lower grades. Therefore it is demanded that various activity experiences are developed to have the elementary school student learn more about nature itself.
