Our country have achieved high economic growth while rapid industrialization and urbanization progress since 1960s . Although the large-scale of new towns have been developed in order to solve the population problem in accordance with the rapid urbanization, which has led to the decline and social problems of urban areas. With a great interest in urban regeneration, it has been a critical issue for urban revitalization since 1980s in our country. New types of urban regeneration are undertaken in various ways under the Urban Regeneration and Assistance Law『』conducted in 2013. Therefore, this study aims to explore various ways of implementation processes for the successful urban regeneration through the survey of experts in Changwon(Masan). As a result, the experts showed that commercial activities are top priorities with a great emphasis on social regeneration, then the economic regeneration, cultural regeneration and physical environmental regeneration. Because experts are actually subject to plan the project and promote, high priority areas selected for this group are likely to apply equally urban regeneration in the applied sites. In order to fulfill successful regeneration projects, more adequate communication with merchants are required before starting the projects. If the projects take place without adequate communication, serious side-effects will be taken place such as low participation and the distrust of the policy. Consequently, In this study, analyze the important elements of the experts, to try to show the priority of regeneration projects each commercial, from the shopping area. It is expected to contribute to the implementation plan of the new regeneration project. For this study, an AHP technique was applied to the analysis of the processes. Moreover, this study will be able to provide an empirical reference for revitalization of urban center in the future, provide that the analysis results can be applied to commercial areas in other cities.
