It can be said that the beauty of jeongseon arirang sung by Kim Ok-shim is in delicate juncture. But the musical dynamics, its being full of life makes the song more beautiful. The word gangwon-do gives a strong impression to the melody of no gu me . The former phrase nogume baegil jeongseongeul malgo is more full of life than the latter phrase taguan gaekrie oirohi nan saram . nogume(a-c ) in former phrase gives the tension with the gradual increase of tightening. What a suspense it is, the high strong e tone of baegil comes after the tension! And the explosion of jeongseong follows the fade out of malgo in which the last syllable go lengthened. Such a delicate change of dynamics is the beauty of jeongseon Arirang which cannot be enjoyed in other folksongs such as gangwon-do arirang or hanobaeknyeon of fixed triple beat. The biggest reason why jeongseon arirang( nogume baegil jeongseongeul malgo ) is so esthetic is in that we can feel the wind blowing in the pine forest, listening to the song. The wind is getting stronger in the first phrase and in the second and third phrase it stays the strongest and the pine trees drop their heads down. The pine trees make soft sound raising their heads after the wind passes away in the fourth phrase. Such dynamics of the wind in the pine forest, being full of life is the very beauty of jeongseon arirang.
