Archives of Korean Traditional Music Network

이 글은 전통음악관련 전문 아카이브 의 설립에 관한 것이다. 전통음악관련 전문 아카이브는 이상적 아카이브의 건설을 위한 것으로 국가기관이 모색하는 국립 아카이브 체제를 먼저 염두에 둔 것이기도 하지만 궁극적으로는 국내의 모든 아카이브들이 규모와 관련 없이 일정한 체계 내에서 체제를 구축하고 상호 간에 의사소통을 하기위한 것이기도하다. 이 글에서는 기 존 시청각 자료의 수집 현황에 대해 간략하게 살펴보고, 미래의 이상적인 아카이브 설립에 대한 요건과 과제들 그리고 아카이브 실현의 절차들에 대해 서 술해보았다. 이상적 인 아카이브는 세계적 표준에서 다룰 수 있는 자료는 물론이고 한국의 특수한 자료도 포함해야 한다. 그리고 현 상황에서 국립 혹은 대규모 아카이브는 무엇보다도 기존의 시청각 자료 수집기관에서 성취하지 못했던 아카이빙 기관 간의 상호적 의사소통의 문제를 전격적으로 해 결 해야 한다. 시청각 자료의 효율적 인 이용 문제는 특정 단체의 문제를 넘어서 미디어의 문화를 100 여 년째 향유하고 있는 우리 사회의 과제라고 할 수 있다. 이 점 에서 국악 관련 아카이브가 성공적으로 안착된다면 특정 아카이 브의 탄생이라는 차원을 넘어서 보다 큰 문화적 성취를 이 룰 수 있다.

This article is about the establishment of Archives of Korean Traditional Music(AKTM). The purpose of AKTM is the creation of an ideal archive system. Though, in the eariy stage, an archive system operated by government or other national institutes is considered, the final goal is to achieve a system in which all, large or small, the independent systems can communicate each other. In this article, the current status of audiovisual archives is briefly described and a procedure to realize an ideal. archive system is proposed. An ideal archive should include not only the global standard materials but also specifically Korean ones. Also, national or large archive system should give priority to the communication between archiving institutes, which has not yet been accomplished. Since we have relished media culture for over 100 years, the efficient use of audiovisual is the issue of our whole society, not just a matter of some institutes. In this regard, the successful establishment of ATM would be a magnificent cultural accomplishment.
