A Simplified Algorithm for Transient Stability Analysis of Power System

A stability analysis is a principal problem in power system planning and operation. But, A numerical integration methods used for power system analysis, although very effective in handling different models, are very expensive in terms of computation requirement. In this paper, the system is described by a set of first-order differential equations which consist of both linear and nonlinear parts. The linear set of equations is solved by modal analysis using closedform solutions and the nonlinear part of equations is solved by a numerical method. Using the proposed technique, the analysis time of transient stability is considerably reduced and the convergency characteristic is improved.
