JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 목제품 만들기 수업이 초등학생의 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향

Effect of Woodwork Class that Applies JIGSAWⅢ Model on Improvement of Children’s Sociality

이 연구는 2007년 개정교육과정의 초등학교 5학년 실과 ‘5. 생활 속의 목제품’ 단원의 목제품만들기 수업에 활용할 수 있는 JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 목공교육 프로그램을 개발하고, 이를 활용한 목제품 만들기 수업이 초등학생의 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 수행하였다. 이 연구에서 개발한 JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 목공교육 프로그램은 학생의 흥미와 창의성을 유도하고, 모둠별로 목제품을 만드는 과정에서 모둠원 간의 협동을 중요시하는 활동을 통해 사회성을 키우는데 중점을 두어 개발하였다. JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 목제품 만들기 수업이 초등학생의 사회성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 서울시 양천구에 위치한 Y초등학교 5학년 1개 반 31명을 실험집단으로 선정하여 목제품 만들기 수업을 실시하였다. 사회성 검사 도구로는 문애경(2008)의 ‘SSRS-학생용’ 사회성 검사도구를 사용하였으며 통계프로그램으로는 SPSS WIN(version. 12.0)프로그램을 사용하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2007년 개정교육과정의 5학년 실과 ‘목제품 만들기’ 수업에서 단계별 학습(목재 및 목공구의 이해, 목제품 구상 및 작업 방법 이해, 아이디어 생성하기, 전문가집단 활동하기, 목제품 만들기, 목제품 평가 및 반성하기)을 적용하여 사회성 발달에 도움을 줄 수 있는 총 10차시 분량의 목공교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 둘째, JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 목제품 만들기 수업은 초등학생의 사회성을 신장시키는데 긍정적 효과가 있었다. 사회성의 하위 4개 요인(협동, 자기 주장, 공감, 자기 조절)에서 통계적으로 p<0.05 수준의 유의미한 변화를 보였다. 이상의 결과들로부터 JIGSAWⅢ 모형을 적용한 수업은 초등학생의 사회성 발달에 긍정적 효과를 미침을 알 수 있었으며, 본 연구를 통해 초등 실과 목공 수업에서 JIGSAWⅢ 모형의 활용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.

This study is performed to develop woodwork education program applied JIGSAWⅢ model that is applicable to class to make wooden goods of the Unit ‘5. Wooden works in Our Life’ in the fifth grade of elementary school of revised curriculum in 2007, and to examine the effect of woodworks class by applying this on improvement of children’s sociability. The woodworks education program applied DIY and cooperative learning model developed in this study was developed by focusing to develop sociality through activities that put emphasis on cooperation between group members in the process to make wooden goods per group, and induce interests and creativity of students. To investigate the effect of woodworks class applied DIY and cooperative learning model, woodwork class was conducted by selecting 31 students of one class in fifth grade in Y elementary school located in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul as an experimental group. As a tool to inspect sociality, it was used the sociality inspection tool for ‘SSRS-for Students’ of Mun, Ae Kyoung, and as for statistic program. It was used SPSS WIN(version. 12.0) program. The study results are as follows: First, it was developed woodworks education program that would help to improve sociality of total 10 time period (Understanding wood and DIY woodworking tools, understanding design of wooden goods and working process, creating ideas, activating experts group, making wooden goods, evaluation and review) that is applicable to class of ‘Making Wooden Goods’ of Practical course in fifth grade of revised curriculum in 2007. Second, woodworks class applied JIGSAWⅢ model model had a positive effect to improve children’s sociality. It showed significant changes at the level of p<0.05 statistically at the four sub factors of sociality (cooperation, self-assertiveness, empathy, and self-control) From above results, it was known that the class that applied JIGSAWⅢ model has positive effectson improvement of children’s sociality, and it was confirmed that its application possibility of JIGSAWⅢ model in the woodworks class of elementary Practical Course through this study.
