In an attempt to explore and explicate language-learning processes and products, numerous journals in Korea and abroad have been published addressing English teaching and learning issues. This study was conducted to review The Society for Teaching English through Media (STEM) critically, which exclusively deals with movies or media-related issues. Four doctoral candidates participated in this study to review and appreciate the journal articles published by STEM (N=330) for the last fifteen years exclusively focusing on experimental and case studies. The results of the study indicate that the writers of the articles did fairly good jobs of representing their research work: However two drawbacks in representing the results of case and experimental studies were identified. For case studies, the researcher of the examined articles rarely used any negative case analysis which is thought to enhance the credibility of the findings of a study. Also, some of the experimental studies failed to report random selection processes and subject assignment to each cell of a study. In addition, relatively few researchers provided an alternative hypothesis in the finding section. Based on the findings of the study, suggestions regarding the future direction of STEM Journal in terms of research methodology and its representation are provided.
