Moodle의 퀴즈활동 활용 방안에 관한 고찰

A study on the use of the Moodle quiz module

본 연구는 교양과목으로 개설된 초급 일본어과목 수강생을 지원하기 위해 Moodle의 퀴즈 모듈을 활용하는 방안에 관해 고찰한 것이다. 초급 일본어과목 수강생은 일본어 능력에서 많은 차이가 있기 때문에 이들을 모두 만족시키기 위해서 어떤 방법이 필요한지 생각할 필요가 있기 때문이다. 먼저 무들에서 교수자가 무엇을 할 수 있는지 이해하기 위하여 퀴즈 모듈에 관한 개략 적인 소개를 한 후 모든 학생들을 격려하기 위해 어떻게 퀴즈의 여러 가지 사항을 설정하고 편집해야 하는지 설명하였다. 또한 학생들의 퀴즈 진행과정을 이해할 수 있도록 실제 화면을 통해 설명하였다. Moodle 접속을 용이하게 하기 위하여 게스트 아이디를 사용했으므로 학생들을 변별하기 위한 방법에 관해서도 설명하였다. 교수자는 수강생의 접속 이력과 성적도 확인할 수 있으며 이를 통해 퀴즈 활용효과를 가늠해 볼 수 있을 것이다. 마지막으로 학생들이 퀴즈 모듈에 관한 설문조사를 실시한 결과를 분석하였다. 퀴즈 모듈을 적절하게 설정한다면, 비록 퀴즈 모듈이 학습 활동의 일부분에 지나지 않더라도 다양한 일본어 능력을 가진 수강생들을 지원할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 앞으로 좀 더 다양한 퀴즈 활동을 고안하여 교양 일본어 수강생의 일본어 능력 향상에 도움을 주고자 한다.

The paper focuses on the use of the “Moodle” quiz module to support students undertaking a basic Japanese education in the liberal arts. Notably, it is necessary to utilize teaching methods that meet the needs of students with different levels of proficiency in Japanese. First, the paper introduces the features of the Moodle quiz module pertaining to what is required of the teachers administering the module. It explaines how to generate a quiz module that will encourage all students. Screen images are shown, to illustrate how students do quizzes using the system. A guest ID is used to log in to Moodle easily. A teacher can check students’ access history and track their scores, to assess the effects of the quiz module. In the final part of the paper, students’ opinion on the quiz module are presented. In conclusion, the Moodle quiz module can support students with various levels of proficiency in Japanese. It is expected that the accumulation of numerous quiz modules of various designs in the future will support students undertaking a basic Japanese education in the liberal arts.
