초등 여교사의 배구동아리 활동을 통한 직무만족에 대한 탐구

A Study on Female Elementary School Teachers’ Job Satisfaction through Volleyball Club Activities

본 연구는 배구동아리 활동이 초등 여교사의 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 대해 심층적으로 탐구한 질적연구이다. 이를 위해 D광역시 G배구동아리에 활동 중인 초등 여교사 4명을 연구참여자로 하여 심층면담, 참여관찰, 현장일지 등을 통해 자료를 수집했고, 분류체계분석과 원인연쇄분석으로 분석하였다. 첫째, G배구동아리는 높은 유대감으로 묶여 있고, 구성원간 수평적인 관계를 형성하고 있었으며, 동아리 내의 영향력은 배구실력과 리더에게 많았다. 둘째, 배구동아리 활동을 통해 학생, 학부모, 동료교사 및 상사와 긍정적인 인간관계를 맺게 되었고, 활동에서 얻은 성취감과 자기계발을 통해 교직생활에서 보람을 느꼈으며, 이는 교직 전문성을 향상 시키는데 도움이 되었다. 배구동아리 참가는 동료관계와 교직사회 적응에 도움이 되므로 더 많은 참여를 유도하여 교직원간 화합을 도모하고, 교사의 직무만족도를 높일 필요가 있다. 따라서 더 많은 여교사들이 배구를 포함한 다양한 스포츠 동아리 활동을 쉽게 할 수 있도록 경제적·제도적인 지원이 이루어진다면 이들 활동을 통해 얻은 교사의 효능감이 직무만족도를 높여 궁극적으로 건실한 공교육의 기틀을 세우는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

This research aims at examining the effects of volleyball club activities on the job satisfaction of female elementary school teachers. four female elementary school teachers participating in G volleyball club in D metropolitan city were selected as the research subjects. The data was analyzed through casual chain analysis. As the research results, first, as for the culture of G volleyball club, the members were found to have strong tie based on cooperation and trust. In addition, equal relationships had been formed between male members and female ones. With regard to the criterion of influence, the competence to play volleyball and the existence of a leader were regarded as important. Second, they encouraged the subjects to form positive relationships with students, parents of the students, co-teachers and supervisors. They were feeling a worth at moreover, the teaching life. They were also of help for them to improve their professionality as teachers. A system is necessary to help both male and female teachers to continue their sports club activities. Volleyball club activities help teachers lead their life as teachers with bigger joy. Especially, female teachers participate in sports clubs, who becomes energy for their daily life and work. Based on the study results, the following suggestions were made for follow-up research. The volleyball clubs consisting of only female teachers need to be investigated.
