The Effects of a Music-based Sensory Integration Play Program on the Prosocial Behavior of Toddlers

이 연구는 음악기반 감각통합 놀이 프로그램이 유아의 친사회적 행동에 미치는 영향을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 인천에 위치한 어린이 집 두 곳에 재원 중인 만 5세 유아 34명이다. 각 17명을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 무선배치 하였고 사전검사결과를 활용해 두 집단 간의 동질성을 확인하였다. 친사회적 행동은 김영옥(2003)이 개발한 유아 친사회적 행동 평가 척도를 서소정(2006)이 재구성한 척도를 사용해 측정하였고 총 6주간 12회에 걸쳐 실험집단 유아들에게 음악기반감각통합 놀이 프로그램을 적용하였다. 연구결과 음악기반 감각통합 놀이 프로그램은 유아의 친사회적 행동의 하위변인들 중 ‘감정이입’과 ‘조절하기’ 향상에 유의미한 효과가 있었던 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아교육기관에서 유아들의 친사회적 행동 증진을 위해 음악기반 감각통합 놀이 프로그램의 긍정적 활용 가능성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a music-based sensory integration play program on improving toddler s prosocial behavior. In this study, 34 toddlers(5 years old) were selected in the two different Day care centers in Incheon. And then, 17 toddlers were assigned to the experimental group and the other 17 toddlers were assigned to the control group. The measure of assessing pro-social behavior of toddlers developed by Kim Young-Ok(2003) and then reconstructed by Suh So-Jung(2006). The music based sensory integration paly activity was applied to the experimental group for 7 weeks, 12 sessions while regular toddler class based on Nuri curriculum was carried out to the control group. It appeared that the music-based sensory integration play program has effect on enhancing toddler s prosocial behavior. There were found to be statistically significant differences in the results of raising empathy and emotion-controlling which are lower factors of prosocial behavior. Therefore, I suggest that for the enhancement of prosocial behavior which is necessary to toddlers, music-based sensory integration play program can be used valuably in the children education institutes.
