The Effects of Havruta Activities Using Talmud Storybooks on Language Expressiveness and Creative Personality

본 연구에서는 탈무드 동화책을 활용한 하브루타 활동이 유아의 언어표현력과 창의적 성격에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탈무드 동화책을 활용한 하브루타 활동이 유아의 언어 표현력에 미치는 효과는 어떠한가? 둘째, 탈무드 동화책을 활용한 하브루타 활동이 유아의 창의적 성격에 미치는 효과는 어떠한가? 이를 위해 인천 서구에 위치한 J민간 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 4세 38명의 유아를 연구 대상으로 선정하여 유아의 언어표현력 그림검사와 유아의 창의적 성격검사와 t-test를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 탈무드를 활용한 하브루타 활동이 언어 표현력에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 유아의 언어 표현력의 하위요소인 단어 수, 문장 수, 내용의 일치, 내용의 연계, 창의적 표현의 모든 하위요인에서 통계적으로 유의한 변화가 나타났다. 이는 탈무드 동화책을 활용한 하브루타 활동이 유아들의 언어표현력 향상에 효과적임을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 탈무드를 활용한 하브루타 활동이 창의적 성격에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 창의적 성격의 하위 요소인 창의적 성격, 호기심, 모험심, 과제집착력에서는 통계적으로 유의한 변화가 나타났다. 하지만, 유아의 창의적 성격의 하위 요소인 독립심은 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구결과를 통하여 탈무드 동화책을 활용한 하브루타 활동 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단의 유아들이 언어 표현력과 창의적 성격이 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 탈무드 동화책이 유아기의 사물에 대한 호기심과 풍부한 상상력을 자극하고, 질문과 대화의 하브루타 활동이 유아들의 흥미와 즐거움을 주어 언어 표현력과 창의적 성격에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 볼 수 있다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how havruta activities, using Talmud storybooks effect children’s expressive language skills and creativity. In pursuit of the purpose, this study tested children’s expressive language skills and creativity with 38 six-year-old children of J nursery school in Incheon Seogu. All the collected data were statistically analyzed t-test. The results are as follows., First, the experimental group improved on all sub-elements(the number of words, the number of sentences, correspondence of content, creative expression) of children’s expressive language skills better than the control group, resulting in. statistically significant differences. From the result of this study havruta activities would be a proper tool used to improve children’s expressive language skills. Second, havruta activities using Talmud storybooks have a positive effect on (curiosity, adventurous spirit, task commitment) of creative personality. However, it didn t improve the subelement, independent spirit, of children’s creativity. From the result of this study, the experimental group with havruta activities, using Talmud storybooks improved expressive language. Through Havruta activities, using Talmuld storybooks, which has lots of various stimulates children’s curiosity and fertile imagination of things, it also provides children with interest and pleasure leaving positive influence on children’s expressive language skills and creative characters.
