The Relationship between Daycare Center Principals Coaching Leadership and Teacher Efficacy

본 연구는 보육교사가 지각하는 어린이집 원장의 코칭리더십과 교사효능감 간에 어떤 관계가 있는지를 확인하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 서울특별시 및 경기도에 소재한 국공립, 민간, 가정, 직장 어린이집 19개소에 재직하고 있는 어린이집 교사 210명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 첫째로 보육교사가 지각하는 어린이집 원장의 코칭리더십을 확인하기 위하여 최치영(2003)이 개발한 코칭리더십 검사도구를 사용하였고, 교사효능감에 대한 측정도구는 이분려(1998)가 유아교사에 맞도록 번역, 수정·보완한 것을 사용하였다. 변인 간 상관관계를 확인하기 위해 Pearson의 상관계수를 산출하였으며, 보육교사의 개인적 배경과 교사효능감 간의 차이는 t-test와 일원 분산분석(one way ANOVA), 사후검증(Scheffé)을 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과에서 첫째, 원장의 코칭리더십과 교사효능감 간에는 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났으며, 둘째, 원장의 코칭리더십 수준에 따라 교사효능감에는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교사 배경변인에 따라 교사효능감에는 차이가 있었다. 이와 같은 결과는 향후 어린이집의 효과적인 운영 및 교육환경 개선을 위한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between coaching leadership of daycare center principals and teacher efficacy. The participants of this study was 210 teachers of 19 public, private, home and workplace daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. They took a questionnaires for checking the coaching leadership of daycare center principals perceived by teacher and the teacher efficacy. To know the correlation with each variable, SPSS Win 22.0 was used. The collected data was analyzed by t-test, one way ANOVA and Scheffé to identify the differences between the teacher’s personal background and efficacy. The results of the study were as follows: First, there was a significant relationship between coaching leadership of daycare center s principal that perceived by teacher and teacher efficacy. Second, there was a strong relationship with teacher efficacy and subfactor of coaching leadership, direction guidance, capacity improvement, accomplishment assessment and relationship, and the general teacher efficacy. Third, in terms of teacher efficacy depending on teacher’s background variables. Based on the results, the study proved a significant relationship between coaching leadership of the principal of daycare center perceived by teacher and teacher efficacy.
