재고자산회전율 개선에 영향을 미치는 업종별 기업특성의 차이

A Study on Corporate Characteristics Influencing the Improvement of Inventory Turnover according to the types of business of manufacturing companies

경영자는 기업의 가치가 극대화 되도록 운영전략을 설계하고 재고자산회전율 변화 정도를 활용 하여 기업의 운영전략과 상황을 파악한다. 본 연구는 코스피 시장과 코스닥 시장에 상장된 제조 기업들을 대상으로 재고자산회전율 개선에 영향을 미치는 기업특성을 파악하는 연구를 수행했다. 1999년 1월 1일부터 2014년 12월 31일까지 한국 거래소 코스피 시장과 코스닥 시장에 상장된 595개 제조기업을 대상으로 패널회귀분석을 시행했다. 재고자산회전율 변화에 영향을 미치는 기업 특성으로 기업 자산 크기, 매출액 성장률, 수익성 비율, 레버리지 비율, 신용평점, 기업 연혁을 분석에 활용했다. 기업특성변수로 사용한 변수는 선행연구를 바탕으로 기업의 재무성과에 영향을 미치는 변수를 중심으로 선정했다. 제조기업들을 업종별로 구분하여 재고자산회전율 변화에 영향을 미치는 기업 특성이 차이가 있는지를 분석한 결과 기계･자동차, 화학･의약, 전기･전자 제조업 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 재고자산회전율 변화에 영향을 미치는 기업특성들을 파악하였다. 코스피 시장과 코스닥 시장에 상장된 제조 기업들이 효율적이고 안정적으로 기업을 운영할 수 있도록 산업실무에 기여하는 토대가 될 것으로 기대한다.

Managers set an operational strategy to maximize the values of their corporations by consulting changes to the inventory turnover and corporate characteristics influencing it. This study thus set out to investigate the corporate characteristics affecting the improvement of inventory turnover by looking into the manufacturing corporations listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ market. Surveyed in the study were the manufacturing corporations listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ from January 1, 1999 to December 31, 2014. Panel regression analysis was conducted of 595 manufacturing firms listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ for empirical analysis. Used in the analysis were such corporate characteristics influencing inventory turnover changes as the size of corporate asset, sales growth rate, profitability ratio, leverage ratio, credit rating, and corporate history. Based on a finding from previous studies that manufacturing corporations would improve their inventory turnover for the next year based on that of previous year, the study carried out the followings. it looked into differences, if any, in the corporate characteristics influencing changes to the inventory turnover of manufacturing companies according to the types of business. The findings of the study are expected to build a foundation that will contribute to the practice of industry by identifying the corporate characteristics influencing changes to the inventory turnover and helping the manufacturing corporations listed on KOSPI and KOSDAQ run a business in an efficient and stable manner.
