한 여자농구선수의 생애사 : 전문선수로의 성장과 체육교육자로의 경력전환과정

A Life History Research on a Female Basketball Player : Growing as an Athlete and Transition of Career to Physical Education Educator

이 연구는 한 여자농구선수가 농구부에 입단하여 전문선수로 성장하는 과정과 은퇴 후 경력전환을 통해 체육교육자로 살아가는 삶을 조명하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 생애사 연구방법을 적용하였으며 내러티브 인터뷰, 신문기사, 신문스크랩, 사진 등의 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 수집한 자료의 분석은 생애사 자료 분석 방법 중 총체적 형태 분석 방법으로 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 생애사 연구의 주인공이 전문선수로 성장하는 과정은 크게 ‘농구와 공부 사이의 줄다리기’와 ‘전문농구선수로서의 삶’의 과정으로, 은퇴 후 체육교육자로 경력을 전환하는 과정은 ‘만학도의 꿈 실현’과 ‘체육교육자로의 성장과 도전’ 과정으로 도출되었다. 또한 주인공의 농구선수와 체육교육자로서의 삶의 여정 속에는 농구와 공부가 관류하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to illuminate the process of the career development of a female basketball player from joining a basketball team to growing into a successful professional basketball player and physical education educator after retirement. For this, the life-history research method has been adopted along with collection of necessary data through various means and sources, including narrative interview, newspaper articles, newspaper scrap, and photographs. The collected data have been analyzed based on the biographical data analysis as part of the life-history data analysis. The research findings are as follows. First, the growth and development process as a basketball player, or main character of the life-history research, featured a tug of war between basketball and study and the life as a professional basketball player . Next, the career transition process to a physical education educator after retirement featured the realization of aged student’s dream and Growth and challenges to physical education educator’. The life journey of a basketball player and physical education educator has been found to be built on both basketball and study at the same time.
