한국․인도네시아․말레이시아 목재류에 대한 시장경쟁력 분석

(Analysis of Market Competitiveness of Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia in Forest Products)

This study is designed to measure the impacts of FTAs between Korea and Indonesia and between Korea and Malaysia, respectively. It also suggests some policy measures to minimize the negative impacts and to maximize the positive effects as the results of upcoming FTA negotiations. To accomplish the purpose of the study the present conditions of forest resources and the current trends of forest related industry are looked into. The competitiveness of forest products of each country is measured against world market and Korean market. Consequently trade negotiations in forestry goods should focus on minimizing the negative impacts. According to the results of industry analyses it is recommended to classify sawnwood and plywood for Indonesia and malaysia, and particleboard for Malaysia as sensitive goods, which need to have long and minimal tariff reduction schedules.
