한국과 중국의 양돈산업 생산효율성 비교

(The Analysis of Hog Production Efficiency between Korea and China)

This study conducts the data envelopment analysis (DEA) to analyse the competitiveness of Korea’ hog production efficiency relative to that of China. Specifically, pork prices and production costs were collected to compare price competitiveness between the two countries. Korea-produced pork bellies are found more than 3 times expensive than those of China while the prices of other pork parts are found at similar levels, implying that there might be a good opportunity of trading porks tailoring each country’s needs. Judging from the result of DEA, Korea needs to reduce feeding cost as well as other various costs in order to improve production efficiency to gain competitiveness in international trading with China.
