난류 생산농가의 유통 및 수출 실태에 관한 연구

(The Study on the Distribution and Export of Orchids Producers in Korea)

This study investigates how producers distribute and export orchids. To do that we conduct surveys and interviews on producers and relevant organizations. Orchids producers have difficulty in farming due to price risk, increasing costs, quality maintenance, adjusting the shipping date, insufficient quality standard, and long-time cultivation period. To orchids export producers, export credit risk by buyer‘s default is the greatest difficulty. Insufficient hedge means to avoid export price risk, asymmetric relationship between producers and buyers, lack of information for trade countries, and strict customs clearance regulation are pointed out as important difficulties. To dissolve those difficulties, government need to provide sufficient hedge means, effective quality standards, and specialized export insurance for orchids exporters. Producers could strengthen the competitiveness in export countries by conducting co-marketing. Another implications for the invigoration of orchids export are suggested at the end of this study.
