Regional Analysis on the Technological Efficiency of Korean Agriculture : 1955~2013

This study estimates the agricultural technological efficiency by region since the open economy in Korea. The study confirms the decline of productivity growth in Korean agriculture after 2000 s. The Cobb-Douglas production function, the translog production function and the stochastic frontier production function are estimated by using estimated regional agricultural input-out data from 1960 to 2012. Based on estimated results, the technological efficiency is estimated. Since 2000s, the technological efficiency of Korean agriculture in the most of provinces declined and led to depression in production technology and its efficiency.
