Comparative Analysis on a Social Network Structure for the Rural Elderly Welfare Services : Focusing on Rural Healthy and Long Life Villages

This study reviews how the rural welfare services are delivered to the community through social network. Thus, this study aims to promote strategies to deliver the rural welfare services to the community in a more effective manner. We grasped some of the key elements that “rural healthy and long life villages” possessed by differentiating social network into “participation network” and “personal network”. Then, we conducted centrality analysis to find a main figure in that network and analyzed how much the elderlies rely on the information by observing the structural hole in it. As a result, we suggest the following. First, we choose a main figure who have the most powerful in the community before implementing the welfare services. And we have to promote and educate rural village people in order to deliver the rural welfare services to the community in a more effective manner. Second, the information about the services is shared between the management committee and village people. Third, to expanding the “participation net-work”, the rural welfare services have to be done in the terms of promoting community spirit between the villagers. Finally, we construct welfare program that have no physical demands in order that grand old people are not isolated.
