The Estimates of Economic Value on the Forage Crop Production in Paddy Field

This study aims to estimate of economic value on the forage crop production in korean paddy field. If farmers cultivate forage crop in paddy field after October finished harvest rice, farmers can get sales income from forage crop production and additionally if carbon sequestration effectiveness of farmland(paddy field) authorize internationally, they will have additional income from emission trading according to production of forage crop in paddy field in winter. For the last, the production of forage crop in paddy field in winter season can create agricultural amenity function as conservation scenery or plural function of paddy field as raising atmosphere purification function. Therefore it can be a political basis of direct payment program for environmentally-sustainable production acceptable from WTO green box. Comprehensively domestic production of forage crop in paddy field can be a useful policy to provide economical value such sales income of forage crop, additional income of emission trading and transfer income by the support as direct payment program for environmentally-sustainable production to farmers in the future.
