This study aims to analyze the relationship between food consumption and unbalance of nutrients considering food consumption as recommended intake of nutrients. To find food consumption pattern by aging pattern, not only the number of elderly member in household but also the household income level are analyzed as main determinants. Additionally the interaction between income and the aging pattern is also considered. The Model 1 which tries to analyze determinants of food expenditure of household, and the Model 2 which tries to analyze the intention of food consumption in which the big differences in terms of consumption between the elderly and others, are utilized for analysis. In the sense of recommended intake of nutrients, the change of income in household has larger effects on food consumption rather than the number of elderly member. According to Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans on 2010, there are little differences for protein, vitamin, and minerals intakes between elderly and non-elderly people, so that the unbalanced intake of nutrients and decreased food consumption caused by decline in income of the elderly might invoke the aged to have health problems.
