An Analysis of Factors Affecting Willingness for Korean Wheat Production

This study is to analyze what motivates farmers to cultivate wheat in South Korea. It is based on direct interview and survey conducted in major Korean wheat production regions including Jeollanamdo, Jeollabukdo, Gyeongsangnamdo. It is to increase cultivation of wheat as a staple crop following rice. Wheat Farmers are not simply motivated by economic incentives to cultivate wheat. Their goal is to provide safe domestic wheat to consumers and to pursuit multifactorial function of farming. This result will help Government’s policy making for wheat production.
