A Study on the Improvement of the Agricultural Wholesale Market Logistics

We investigated the cause of the inefficiency of logistics on the wholesale market. As the main cause, we suggested the multiplicity of item, the small trading unit, poor mechanical unloading rate, the small volume of wholesale companies, the aged facilities. 10 pieces were presented to the following policy measures to improve logistics inefficiency of wholesale market. These policies were analyzed through AHP analysis for the priority. As the result, the first is the enlarging scale of food producer organization. Providing infrastructure of logistics, and the trading system improvements were followed. We concluded that government should strengthen the link between the wholesale distribution market policy and farm side policy to improve the efficiency of logistics on the wholesale market.
