Agricultural Development Policy of Island Areas in Nagasaki Prefecture of Japan

The purpose of this study is to examine the agricultural food processing group in island area of Japan. In order to achieve this aim, data has been collected by means of survey in the Agricultural Food Processing Group (Kamigoto area in Nagasaki Prefecture). There are three processing groups in Kamitogoto area. They are carrying out the agricultural food processing based on their characters. But these groups have common problems with fluctuation income, successor to their groups, and marketing of their products. In the future, it is necessary to support its agricultural food processing group development by building strong relationship between group and other institutions (e. g. local government, agricultural cooperative, tourists center).
