경계선 위의 삶: 무용하지 않는 무용학과 여대생의 대학생활에 관한 연구

Their life on the boundary line: college life of female undergraduates in department of dance to put off drop-out

이 연구의 목적은 소위 무용 탈락 유보자 즉 무용학과 학생이면서도 무용을 하지 않으려는, 그러나 완전히 그만두지 못하고 있는 여학생들의 삶을 살펴보고, 이들이 살아가는 삶의 공간의 구성요소를 분석하며, 그것이 드러내 보여주는 바를 논의함으 로써 그 삶이 이루어지는 생활세계의 특징을 이해하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2015년 10 월부터 2016년 2월까지 약 6개월 간 9명의 연구 참여자들과의 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였으며, Nvivo 10 프로그램을 활용해 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 무용 탈락 유보 학생들은 무의미한 학과공부, 억지로 혹은 떠밀리듯 하는 무용 연습, 강요 및 폭력적 언행 등을 경험하며 학과 및 학과에서 주최하는 다양한 공연에서 주변인으로서의 삶을 살아가며 전문 무용수가 아닌 대안적 삶을 찾고 있었다. 그녀들 에게 무용학과에서의 삶은 무용 탈락자와 무용 지속자의 경계에서 이루어지고 있었 고, 그 경계는 개인적, 학교, 사회적 차원이 복잡하게 교차되어 있다. 마지막으로, 혼종과 순수의 이항 대립의 측면에서 교육적 함의를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to understand life of female undergraduates in department of dance to be obliged to dance, and then to interpret educationally the meaning, to propose the improvement method to promote educational growth potential. We collected research material through 9 research participants, the data was analyzed by Nvivo 10 program. The result was as followings. The experience of research participants were categorized as meaningless department study, dancing practice being forced, school life under pressure or violence. They were compelled to live as the marginal person, as finding the alternative career. And they were a boundary line between dancing drop out person and dancing endurance person. The line was crossed by individual, academical, and social dimension. Lastly, we provided a few educational suggestion in the perspective of binomial opposition.
