A Study on the Structural Change of Employment and Labor-induced Effects of the Korean agri-fishery Industry by the Input-Output Analysis

The purpose of this study is to figure out the structural change of employment and main labor-induced effects of Korean agri-fishery Industry. The result of this analysis can be summarized as follows. First of all, the total number of employment in agri-fishery industry has been continuously decreased until 2007. Second, the coefficient of labor-inducement effect in agri-fishery industry has been continuously decreased. Particularly, this trend is so certain in the case of export demand. It means that the increase of export in agri-fishery industry would not be a solution to resolve the domestic employment problem. In order to solve this problem, the following policy directions are suggested; 1) to decrease the import-dependency ratio of intermediate products; 2) to develop related service and Manufacturing Industry.
