한국어와 영어의 의문사 대조연구

A Contrastive Study on Interrogative Words of Korean and English.

우리가 일상생활에서 나누는 대화는 수많은 질문과 대답으로 이루어져 있다. 의문사를 제대로 이해하고 사용하지 못하면 의사소통에서 필요한 정보를 제대로 파악하여 적절한 대답을 할 수가 없어 의사소통에 장애가 올 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국어와 영어의 의문사에 대한 대조연구를 통해, 영어권 한국어 학습자들의 의사통 능력 향상에 기여하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 본고에서는 제1장 서론에 이어, 제2장에서는 의문사가 가지는 언어 보편적인 특징들을 논의한다. 제3장에서는 한국어 의문사의 주요한 특징들을 논의한다. 제4장에서는 영어 의문사의 주요한 특징들을 논의한다. 제5장에서는 한국어와 영어 의문사의 공통점과 차이점을 대조한다. 영어는 세계 많은 언어 중에서 가장 영향력이 있는 언어로서 많은 나라들이 영어를 제1외국어로 학습하고 있다. 한국어 교육에서 의문사에 대한 교육이 우선시 되어야 하는 현실적인 필요를 감안해 볼 때에, 세계적으로 가장 영향력 있는 언어인 영어를 한국어와 대조하여 두 언어 간의 공통점과 차이점을 밝힘으로써, 영어권 한국어 학습자들이 향후 학습과정에서 겪게 될 어려움과 이점들을 예측하고, 그에 맞는 교육 내용을 그들에게 제시하는, 이러한 일련의 과정은 그들의 의사소통 능력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다.

Our daily communication comprises of numerous questions and answers. Communication barriers may rise out of being unable to understand the interrogative words properly, which may lead to being unable to understand the necessary information and thus, being unable to answer accordingly. Therefore, this study attempts to contribute to the enhancement and development of communication ability via utilization of interrogative words of English-speaking Korean learners through the study of contrast of Korean and English interrogative words. To achieve this, chapter 2, followed by chapter 1 which is the introduction, looks into the general linguistic characteristics of interrogative words. Chapter 3 looks into the main characteristics of Korean interrogative words. Chapter 4 looks into the main characteristics of English interrogative words. Chapter 5 compares and contrasts the Korean and English interrogative words. Since English is the most influential language in the world, many countries use English as their first or second foreign language. Therefore, considering the realistic needs of Korean education system to prioritize the education of the Korean interrogative words, comparing and contrasting Korean and English, which is the most influential language in the world, will enhance the communication ability of the English-speaking Korean learners by predicting and anticipating the advantages and difficulties they may go through in their educational endeavors and provide solutions and guidance.
