The economic feasibility of employing HACCP at slaughter plants in Korea is analyzed in this paper. First of all, benefits and costs of HACCP are identified and estimated at national level. The net present value of employing HACCP in Korea over the 24 year time horizon is 20.2 trillion wons, and annual capital recovery cost is 841.4 billion wons. The resulsts indicate HACCP is not only a hygienically but economically sound policy in Korea.
