Optimal Age of High Quality Hanwoo Beef

The optimal age of the Hanwoo is analyzed in this study. The optimal age may be calculated by estimating the time that the unit price of beef equals to the marginal cost of production. It is assumed that the weight curve is the log-inverse function and costs are constants except for the feed. The result shows that the optimal age for the production of the high quality Hanwoo beef is 28 months among the experimental ages 24, 26 and 28 months.
