Comparison of Valuation for Rural Area s Scenery in Koran and Japan

This paper attempts to examine the differences in valuation for rural area s scenery in Korea and Japan, which have gone through different economic development process and are in different economic development stage. It s goal is to generate the data for the future policies associated with the rural area s scenery. The results show that Korea puts more weight on usability of the rural area s scenery in a relative sense while Japan gives more emphasis on its existence. They also imply that it may be easier to raise the awareness for the value of rural areas through educating those people with the little experience on rural areas.
