The purpose of this study was to analyze consumers food purchasing behaviors. For this research, statistical data by the government and companies were reviewed, and the questionnaire was to asked 621 housewives who were responsible for food consumption for their family. Based on this survey, it was conducted to factor analysis, cluster analysis, multiple responses analysis, and cross tabulation analysis. According to these results, the trends of food consumption was health consciousness, high quality, diversification, convenience, and rationalization. The results indicated that these trends affected to the food consumption patterns. The results of rice and beef was affected to high quality, and vegetables and fruits were to the trend of health consciousness. The processed foods indicated to the trends of convenience and diversification. Also, the results showed that dining-out was affected to specialization, diversification, and rationalization. It is required to establish the strategies to enhance quality competitiveness considered to each characteristic, because consumer s preferences vary to food consumption patterns.
