The Comparative Analysis Agricultural Protection Policies in Korea and the Developed Countries

This paper analyzes the common factors and differences in determining agricultural policies in the various group of countries. First, the agricultural protection policies in Korea and the developed countries are comparatively analyzed. Then this study examines the common factors affectirig the level of agricultural protection such as share of agriculture, agricultural employment, agricultural land, agricultural export value, trade balance, terms of trade. Dummy variables for the developed and the agricultural import countries are used to analyze the distinct characteristics of there country s protection level. As a result, this study suggests that most countries commonly share the characteristics of political economy in the agricultural protection policy. The developed countries protect their agriculture less and the agricultural import countries does more heavily.
