This study was conducted to clarify the characteristics of agricultural policy objectives and policy directions in the Agricultural and Rural Communities Basic Act of 1999. For this purpose, the backgrounds, implications and limits of the agricultural policies in the Act were analysed and compared with the Agricultural Basic Act of 1967.
