Analysis on the Current Management Practices and Development Strategy of Korean Venture Farm

This study analyzes the management situations of venture farms and recommends development strategies for their future improvement and development. The results show that managers of venture farm tend to develop new technologies for their own businesses. Also venture managers think that they have unique technologies for business and knowledge-based industry. They consider that most important factors for successful management are developing capabilities on new technologies or business idea. For them, marketing strategies and venture farmers computer literacy level are not sufficient. For successful management of venture farms, the industry, the academia, and other stakeholders should put in large investment and establish joint projects. The government should introduce more tax reduction and other kinds of funding system. Furthermore, strategies for venture farms should consider the following components like education and training for special human resource, consultation system, strong physical and intellectual capabilities of venture farm managers, and appropriate support system based on the development stage of venture farms.
