The Analysis for the Economic Effect of Korean rice policy

This paper is to measure the economic effects of the Korean rice p이icy. It has been played roles to balance the demand for and supply of the rice market, and to stabilize the rice farmer s income. The government has maintained the rice policy since the rice farming has accompanied with several multi-functional effects such as food security, balanced territorial development, social and cultural heritage, and rural landscape. However, the effect of purchasing policy has been diminishing because of the chronic excess of supply and the limit of Aggregate Measurement of Support(AMS) by the World Trade Organization(WTO). The introduction of the new rice policy has to be considered as soon as possible.
