Guidelines for Restructuring the Agricultural Policy Loans

Korean agriculture is faced with challenges in the agricultural financial market caused by trade liberalization as well as financial deregulation and liberalization. To cope with these challenges, this study discussed the issues of agricultural policy loans and provided some guidelines for restructuring the agricultural policy loans. The most important guideline is to give responsibility to the parties involved in the agricultural financial market, such as government, financial intermediaries, and farmers. To supplement the responsibility, mid-term or long-term goals for agricultural policy loans, efficiency of agricultural financial market, and credit evaluation system are essential.
