일본시장에서 한국산 장미의 평가와 경쟁력 향상을 위한 과제

A Competitiveness and Promotion Subjects of Korean Roses in Japanese Flower Markets

The Korean flower industry has been rapidly developed by virtue of the facilities modernization and export drive p이icy since the beginning of 1990. Especially, rose export increased remarkably under the IMF bailout program, and the position of rose is at the top of exporting flowers now. Rose export is concentrated on Japan because of a geographical advantage, Japanese consumption pattern and etc. But Korean roses are under estimated in comparison with those of Japan and Netherlands. Moreover the competition with new exporting nations such as India and Vietnam is deepening recently. This paper aims to find the competition structure in Japanese rose markets and to explore the scheme for enlarging rose export. The study result shows that the integrated export system should be established through the cooperations and proper roles among the main body related to rose export from production level to export level.
