A Study on Promoting Rural Tourism by Characteristics of Villages in the Gyeongbuk Province

This study aims to suggest alternatives to promoting rural tourism by characteristics of villages. As a result from the factor analysis, we find five primary factors which affects rural tourism. These five factors provide 60.8% explanatory power in explaining the characteristic of rural tourism. This study shows that there are four types of rural villages in the Gyeongbuk province. We suggest some alternatives to promoting rural villages through green tourism by characteristics of villages. First, We have to develop related program based on regional characteristic, location itself. Second, We are concerned with alluring strategy of rural community tourists through development of differentiated contents and diverse products and service. Third, the most important thing might be fostering leader through businessmen training program.
