The Impact of the Increase in Production of the Processed Fruits and Vegetables Sector on Inter-industry Sector: an Input output Analysis

This paper employs an input-output(I-O) analysis to analyze Korean economy the impacts of the processed fruits and vegetables sector. A static I-O framework which is demand-driven model and inter-industry linkage analysis are discussed. This study pays attention to the processed fruits and vegetables sector by taking industry as exogenous and then investigating economic impacts of it. The main results are as follows: First, the production-inducing effect of the increase in production of the processed fruits and vegetables sector on the Korean economy is 1.3 billion won. Second, the value-added-inducing effect of the increase in production of the processed fruits and vegetables sector on the Korean economy is 0.6 billion won. Considering these results, we know the production of the processed fruits and vegetables sector has large impact on inter-industry sector.
