Analysis on Regional Phenomena of Bi-polarization in Farm Income

We analyzed the issues associated with the bi-polization in farm income within rural areas from 1993 to 2006. As the outcome of our research, the key reason of farm income bi-polarization is the different income status of inter farm sectors. Thus, in order to handle the issue of farm income bi-polarization properly, we might need to tackle the issue of inter farm- sectors income bi-polarization while imposing the top priority. On the analysis of correlation between farm income bi-polarization and inter farm- sectors income bi-polarization, three regions have exhibited the highest plus correlation scores such as National Total, Gyeonggi, and Chung chung. On the analysis of Honam region, farm income bi-polarization might be attributed to the widening income gap out of non-farm sector sources. During 2006, the phenomenon of income bi-polarization had been prevalent across all provinces without any exception such as the outcome of 1998. We might need to pay a special heed to this negative phenomenon while judging it could be another dormant economy crisis, or not.
