Factors Affecting the Decision to Scale Adjustment of Korean Dairy Farm

This analysis investigates factors affecting the decision to scale adjustment in Korean dairy farm. The explanatory variables of empirical model were selected based on the 2007 basic survey of Korean dairy industry . The ordered logit estimation is employed to resolve the ordered nature of the scale adjustment of dairy farm management. The results from this study suggest that the explanatory variables such as milk price, forage production, movement plan of meadow, environmental concern, and incubating young managers increase the odds of expanding the dairy management scale while the farmer s age and debt decreases it.
