Analysis of Satisfaction of Returns to the Farm with the Region Society and Regional Dwellers in the Gyeongbuk Province

This paper examines satisfaction of returns to the farm with region society and regional dwellers using ordered logit model. We survey 120 returns to the farm living in the Gyeongbuk province, cross sectional data in 2007. This paper especially estimates the impact of socio-economic characteristics, such as education, age, the period of preparatory period, and farming experience on satisfaction of returns to the farm. The main results show that age and preparatory period affect satisfaction of returns to the farm with region society and regional dwellers more confident than others. The positive coefficient of age variable indicates that satisfaction decreases as age of returns to the farm increases. The negative coefficient of preparatory period variable indicates that satisfaction increases as preparatory period increases. In order to succeed in adjustment to the rural lives, they have to prepare concretely for it before they carry out return to the farm. Also the satisfaction of returns to the farm is effected by the number of neighbors and the level of intimacy with neighbors, it is important to effort to be intimate with other residents.
