Teaching strategies to use relics in the history classroom

역사 수업에서 사료를 활용한 수업이 역사 지식과 역사 탐구의 본질을 가르치는데 가장 적합하다는 주장이 있다. 역사 지식이 사료에 기초하여 구성되기 때문이다. 따라서 사료를 활용하여 역사 지식을 구성하는 과정을 직접 경험할 수 있도록 구성된 사료 활용 수업 모형이 많이 만들어지고 있다. 본고에서는 자료 활용 능력 신장을 위한 유물이나 유적 활용 방안을 학생들의 경험을 함께 고려하면서 ‘관찰과 해석’, ‘조사탐구와 해석’, ‘비판과 종합’ 세 가지로 제시해보고자 한다.

The development of historical understanding is a result of an active interaction between ourselves and the evidence. One of the ways to help students to build up understandings of the past in the classroom is teach how to use relics as evidences in historical inquiry. This paper suggests teaching strategies to use relics to enhance historical thinking skills.
