남북한 초등 지리교육내용 비교 연구

Comparative Study of the Geography Education Content in North and South Korean Elementary Curriculum

본 연구는 현재 남북한 초등학교급에서 이루어지고 있는 지리교육의 교과서 비교․분석을 통하여 동질성과 이질성을 밝혀내고,통일 이후 남북한이 통합 교육과정을 개발할 때에 필요로 하게 될 기초자료를 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다.이를 위 하여 교과서에서 지리교육내용을 선정하여 다음의 기준으로 비교하였다. 비교 기준은 양적·질적 요소를 포함하여 첫째 ‘외형적 요소’,둘째 ‘시각적 자료’,셋째 ‘단원 구성 방식’,넷째 ‘내용 서술 방식’,다섯째 ‘학년별 내용 구성’이다.비교 결과,교육에 대한 기본사상의 차이에서 기인한 교육내용에 관련 한 외형적 요소,시 각적 자료의 구성 및 활용 형태,학습자의 주도적인 활동을 유도하는 단원 구성,내용을 서술하는 방식,학년별 내용 구성 등에서 많은 이질성을 보였다. 이러한 이질성 극복을 위하여 학습자의 발달단계와 수준에 걸 맞는 학습 내용 및, 남북한 상호간의 이해를 넓히기 위한 학습 내용 구성,특정 분야의 지리학에 치우지지 않는 균형 잡힌 지리교육의 실시,국가적인 차원에서의 연구와 지원이 뒷받침 되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the homogeneity and the heterogeneity through thecomparison ofgeography education contentsin theboth North and South Korean elementary school level and to provide the basic materials required when North and South Korea developtheunifiededucation curriculum afterunification.Toperform thisstudy,themethodofextractingandcomparing related contents from the textbooks.The 5 criteria are selected for contents comparison including external and internal factors; the first criteria is appearance ; the second criteria is visual data ; third criteria is section construction method ,fourth criteria is contents describing method ;the fifth criteriais organization ofcontentsby thegrade .Thecomparison results,big differenceisfoundthatthedifferencebetween basicconceptandtheobjectives ofthe education influenced on the overallbackground ofgeography education, thecomposition and utilization ofvisualdata,section construction method lead to student leadingactivity, thecontentsdescribingpatterns,theorganizationof contents by the grade.These heterogeneity solution is thatorganization the learning contents suitable forlevelofstudentand to interchange the impacts between North and South Korea,geographiceducation should be performed to raise balancedper spectivesofbothareasbyassigning uniform areadistribution, rather than inclining to certain area either human geography or physical geography,
